Motorcyclists enjoy their trip to South Tyrol, where they are well served, especially when accommodated in specialized hotels such as the "Birkenau" B&B Hotel. Our hotel offers secure covered parking space for motorbikes as well as a lockable motorcycle garage. We are happy to give advice as to recommendable motorcycle routes near St. Martin and to organize a leisure program for "bike-free" days, which everyone can feel free to participate in.

The route leading over the "Timmelsjoch" pass and over the "Jaufenpass" is particularly popular among motorcyclists. The "Timmelsjoch" pass marks the border between Italy and Austria on a height of about 2,500 metres. The high mountain road with its innumerable serpentines is appreciated by motorbikers and racing cyclists alike.

Passiria Valley - "Timmelsjoch" pass

In summer, innumerable motorcyclists ride on the road up to the "Jaufenpass". Following the pass road over the "Jaufenpass", which is about 31 kilometres long, the biker enjoys particularly stunning scenery. On its northern stretch the view extends over the "Ötztal" Alps, while on the southern slope the biker enjoys the panorama of the "Sarntal" Alps. The "Jaufenpass" route is one of the most popular motorcycle itineraries in South Tyrol, because of the fascinating natural setting and the innumerable tight curves, but also because of the numerous roadside inns. The tour starts in the small medieval town of Sterzing. From there the biker climbs onto the "Penserjoch" pass, the highest point of the route with 2,211 metres. Afterwards the biker crosses Bolzano, the South-tyrolean capital, and the town of Merano before arriving in the village of St. Leonhardt.

The "Birkenau" B&B Hotel is an ideal starting point for your motorbike trip. Starting at St. Martin for a day trip, the motorcyclist can enjoy a ride along numerous curvy Alpine roads.
